The game playing surface represents a 9-hole golf course. It consists of green felt attached to a styrofoam base that has rolling contours; each hole is identified by a small white cup (1 1/8" in diameter) that is on a green elevated above the remaining green felt. The game playing surface folds horizontally; in other words, there are two styrofoam bases with green felt and golf holes on them that are attached in the middle. Unfolded, the game playing surface measures 41 3/4" wide by 20 3/4". Its thickness, including the styrofoam, is 1" on the outside, but thicker on the greens with the holes.

A light blue water hazard lake starts on the left half of the game playing surface, where the game title, "Billy Casper's" (in black) appears above "DiNKY-LiNks" (in red, with yellow dotted "I" letters, and yellow outlines) along with the 1962 copyright notice. The water hazard connects via a stream to the right half, where another lake appears. "PENALTY—1 STROKE" appears all along the water hazard.

In addition to the white plastic cups for each hole from 1 through 9, the course has numbered white triangles indicating direction of play for each hole number.

In various places along the course are two types of foam plastic that is deteriorating due to age. One type is generally orange-tan, flat, and shaped like the Finger Lakes, most likely bunkers. Another type is gray and folded multiple times unto itself, which perhaps may be trees or rough.

Squidgers (representing golf clubs) and winks (representing golf balls) are provide in blue, red, yellow, and white. 1 squidger is included for each color, measuring 7/8" in diameter. 3 winks are included for each color, each measuring 5/8" in diameter.

A pad of scorecard sare included, each having 9 lines corresponding to each of the 9 holes, noting the par and handicap for each hole, providing the opportunity for up to 4 players to record their scores. The additional rightmost column is marked "W+ L- HO".
