A label is attached to the box cover, though it doesn't fill the cover. Outside the cover label on the red underlabel are silver designs including flags, airplanes, runners, cowboys, artillery, ships, race cards, a snake with ladders.and more.

The top label has a white outer border, then plack line, then the main cover art inside. Around 60% of the top part has a yellow background. Below is a green-surfaced table.

"THE NEW GAME OF" (in black) over "BALL TIDLEYWINKS." (in red with black outline, black shadow to right and down, and green shadow to right and down) appears at top on the yellow background. "BALL" is at a slight angle upward to the right, and "TIDLEYWINKS." has a concave-down baseline.

A boy (blue jacket, white collar and shirt, brown hair) is standing at left and has his left hand on the rear edge of the table. A young woman (white dress, blonde hair, red belt) is standing to the right, then a man (blue jacket, white shirt and bowtie) with a monocle is sitting, then a woman (blue and white dress, yellow belt, blonde hair) is standing, all behind the table. To the right of the table, a woman (yellow dress, blonde hair) is sitting with both hands on the table and the right one holding a yellow squidger. A man (blue jcaket, white shirt and bowtie, brown hair) is standing behind her. All are well-dressed.

At left on the table is the game target consisting of 4 square colored sections with holes in them (blue, red, yellow, and green), some wih balls and/or winks in them. The rightmost portion of the target has 5 vertical posts on which balls are shown (on 3 of them). 9 winks and an additional squidger appear on the green table surface.

The 5 colored balls are to be knocked off the wire stands into the box by shooting winks at them.

The cardboard game target (8 1/2" square, about 5/8" high) is attached inside the box bottom in a diamond shape. The target has 4 square quadrants, each with a hole (2 3/8" diameter) in the center inside a black circle, outside of which is a colored background and the same number in each corner of a quadrant. The blue quadrant is marked "1", the red one "5", the green one "4", and the yellow one "2". Outside the target area in the box bottom are 4 colored triangles,: yellow, green, red, and dark blue.

Two metal wire stands (12" long, 3 3/8" high) each have 6 curved sections on top onto which balls are to be placed and then knocked off with winks. These wire stands are placed vertically into holes in the rectangular side sections outside the diamond-shaped target section.

Copy 1 includes:

Celluloid plastic balls, joined at their centers (7/8" diameter): 3 red, 3 yellow, 3 blue, and 3 green.

Squidgers (1 1/4" diameter, bone): 1 offwhite, 1 deeper red (chipped, with both pieces present), 1 dark purplish-blue, 1 pinkish red (eroded color at center), 1 yellow, 1 white.

Winks (11/16" diameter, bone): 4 green, 4 deep red, 4 blue, 4 pinkish-red, 4 yellow, and 4 white.
