A label is attached to the box cover that has a pale yellow background and border, then a black line inside that border.
"LO LO" appears in quotes at the top in large letters (pale yellow with a black outline and shadow, with green horizontal stripes at top). "TRADE MARK" is below in black.
The main part of the cover depicts a scene that includes a table (white top, green and black sides) with a green mat. Nine croquet wickets and two end stakes are placed on the mat in the United States croquet layout. A woman (wearing a long yellow dress with a V behind neck) is sitting at left with her hand touching the green mat. A man (wearing a dark suit, white shirt, dark bowtie) is standing behind her and to the left, with his hand on a chair. At middle behind the table is a woman looking down at the mat. A flower pot appears to her right. At the right end of the table is a man (wearing a dark suit, white shirt and bowtie) sitting and holding a rod to shoot a wink on the mat. At right is a bearded man (wearing a dark suit) facing left and sitting. The large leaves of a plant are present at right.
At the bottom of the cover, the following text appears: "THE NEW PARLOR CROQUET GAME" (in a black serifed font); and below it: "COPYRIGHTED 1891 BY L. E. LAWRENCE PATENT APPLIED FOR".
