"Rules for Levering's Table Quoits"
Rules for Levering’s Table Quoits.
To play, place the three quoits on the spots at each end of the felt in front of the players. Press the edge of the quoit with the propelling disk. A little practice will enable you to judge what pressure is needed.
Rules for Counting.
Each player is entitled to play his three quoits in succession until they leave his own field. The count is made after all have played, and then the quoits are placed in position again; 50 points constitute a game. Each player is entitled to three plays. The quoit is counted on the ring that the largest portion is on. If the quoit is placed over the pin, it entitled the player to fifteen. All quoits are to remain where they have fallen, unless they go outside of the felt. In that case they are returned to the player of that color, but not to be played with until the player’s next turn. If they land on an opponents field, i. e., the triangle in front of each player, it deducts one from his core.
A Second and Equally Interesting Way of Playing the Game.
Place the quoits on the spots designated for starting; play first for No. 1 circle then for No. 2, and then continue, without removing the quoits, until the center is reached. Then place the quoit on one of the starting points and play for the peg. The player who first passes his three quoits through the circles then rings the peg, wins the game.
