The cylindrical nonglossy black-painted wooden cup (1 5/8" top diameter, 1 3/8" bottom diameter, 1 3/8" tall) has a concave sides and a two-tier protruding base.

The playing surface is a medium yellow felt pad (8" x 15 1/4") marked "HOP SCOTCH" at top, thinner and lighter (9 grams) than others with this title (typically 20 grams). It has a red border with a wavy black line inside the border along all sides of the mat. A filled-in red circle (not inside a black circle) is marked at bottom, indicating the starting point for shooting a wink. The mat is marked in areas as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 in a hop scotch layout, from bottom to top. The numbers on the felt mat do not have extra curly tops; they are also thinner in width for this title; for example, the widest part of the "8" is 3/8" wide.
