The cylindrical glossy black-painted wooden cup (2" top diameter, 1 5/8" bottom diameter, 1 1/2" tall) has a concave sides and a two-tier protruding base.
The playing surface is a medium yellow felt pad (8 1/2" x 15 3/4") marked "HOP SCOTCH" at top, weighing around 20 grams. It has a red border with a black dental design inside the border along all sides of the mat. A filled-in red circle (inside a black circle) is marked at bottom, indicating the starting point for shooting a wink. The mat is marked in areas as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 in a hop scotch layout, from bottom to top. The numbers on the felt mat have extra curly tops; they are also typical in width for this title; for example, the widest part of the "8" is 1/2" wide.
