Cover Description

A top label is attached to the box cover with a white outer border, then black line, then pale brown border, then black line.

The main illustration has a dark blue background in the top half. "Ball Tidleywinks" in yellow italics is shown at top. Between the two words is the head of a girl.

Below the dark blue top background is a repeating pattern of around 7 white verticals with dark blue between, and then a diagonal white slash, also on a dark background.

A large green-surfaced table appears in the lower half of the cover, taking up about 7/8ths diagonally.

At left center a girl (pink/light red outfit, blonde hair) is looking right and is holding a red squidger on a green wink. To her right is a taller girl (light brown hair, outfit with red spots joined with zero or one leaves) with her right hand leaning on the table. To the right is a younger, smaller girl (blonde hair, curled on the sides) who is smiling and has her right hand below the table and her right one on a dog next to her. To the right is a white dog looking at the game target on the green table. Further to the right is a boy (yellow/black striped shirt) smiling and looking down to left at the target.

At bottom, left-center is a boy (blonde, white outfit with black area around back) who is holding a tan Teddy Bear.

At the bottom center of the label, "THE CHAD VALLEY GAMES" in an oval is shown in black.

At bottom right on the label, "MADE AT HARBORNE, ENGLAND" is shown.

Contents

4 wooden pieces (1 5/8" wide, 5/8" tall, and 1/4" thick), painted greenish-blue, are attached inside each of the box bottom's corners, on the longer sides. Each one has a hole on the side attached to the box. 2 metal wire stands hook each of their ends into these holes. The stands measure 10 1/4" wide, 3 7/8" tall, with 5 "U" shaped holders (7/8" at widest) along the top.

Plastic ovoid spheres (probably made of celluloid) are placed on the holders, to be knocked off by shooting winks at them. Each ovoid is constructed of two halves joined in the middle. The ovoids come in blue, green, red, and yellow. Copy 1 includes: 3 blue, 1 lighter blue, 1 green, 3 red, and 2 yellow.

Attached inside the box bottom is a target area, 9 3/4" square and 5/8" tall, with red sides and top border. It is divided into 4 square areas, one blue, red, green, and yellow. A hole is present in the middle of each, surrounded by a wide black circle. On two diagonal corners of each is a colored pixie with hands on the black circle and legs to the sides. The red square has 2 green pixies; the green one, red pixies; the yellow one, blue pixies; and the blue one, yellow pixies. The opposite two corners of each has a number (in black) in a white circle with a black border. The blue square has "1"; red, "5"; green, "4"; and yellow, "2".

A complete game includes one squidger (called a "flipper") and four winks ("counters") are provided in each of the four colors. Copy 1 only contains 1 yellow wink (5/8" diameter).
