The game target (inside the box) occupies most of the cover, wrapping over the left, top, and bottom aprons, and stopping just right of the right side of the cover, where an orange background is shown from top to bottom. The target is shown at an angle. The target has two concentric black circles; the inner circle is a single target, and there are 6 compartments outside it, in purple, yellow, blue, red, green, and white. Outside the outer circle, the background is green.

The title, "flips" (in orange on an oval with a black background) appears near the lower right of the cover, overlapping a portion of the game target illustration and the orange background to its right. "for 2–6 players" (in black) appears below. At lower right:

Thin, clear plastic target with center circular area (marked "knips") and six outer areas, sitting in box bottom, with various colors under each area. Area outside of main circle is green, with a four-pointed yellow star and 4 white dots in each corner. Each of these corners has a recessed plastic circle.

Copy 1 includes plastic squidgers and winks:

Squidgers (1" diameter, quality without burrs): 1 blue, 1 green, 1 light blue).

Squidgers (7/8" diameter with burrs): 1 teal blue, 1 red, 1 yellow, 1 white.

Winks (9/16" diameter, quality without burrs): 3 dark blue/black.

Winks (5/8" diameter with burrs): 2 green, 3 light blue, 1 bright yellow.

Winks (5/8" diameter, quality without burrs): 1 dull dark blue, dull dark green, 4 opaque red, 2 translucent red, 1 dull light green/yellow (like a Cambridge blue), 2 translucent dull dark green, 1 yellow.

Winks (19/32" diameter with sharp edges): 5 green. 3 teal blue, 1 dull medium blue, 2 light purple, 2 yellow (like the squidger color), 3 white (like the squidger color).
