Directions for Playing.

The quotations on these cards are from the writings of the author whose name appears on same card.

Shuffle well and deal to the right. Then let the player sitting to the left of the dealer call on any one for a card represented by another one of the same family in his own hand. If successful he may continue asking any one for other cards of families represented in his own hand until he fails, when the person last called on may take his turn and call until he misses, and so on. When either by shuffling or by his skill, any player has obtained the whole number (4) belonging to a family he may lay the aside, and count himself one. The game is ended by all the cards being gathered into their respective families by the players, and the player who has gained the greatest number of families wins the game. The game can be played by any number from three to eight.
