The top label has a white outer border and brown line inner border.

At top right: "LA" above "PUCE" in white and red letters with black shadows, which is above "DOMPTÉE" in white letters with some light blue and with black shadow outlines. This title is on a background with a combination of light blue and red shading that overall appears a reddish gray.

At top left: A game target (yellow outer border with curlicues) with nine hooks as targets, on a light blue background. Each hook has a white circle above it with a black border. The top and bottom rows of hooks are marked 10, 75, and 10, and the center row is marked 25, 100, and 25.

The lower part of the box cover depicts a green tablecloth on a rectangular table angled to the left.

On the right side over the green tablecloth is "COMBINAISON" above "NOUVELLE" (white letters with black shadow outlines). That is above "DU JEU DE LA PUCE" (black letters with disconnected partial black shadows). At lower left is "N. K. ATLAS - PARIS" and at center bottom, "1514".

At lower left a man (black suit jacket, white shirt collar) is sitting in a brown chair, facing away and holding a light blue squidger on a white quoit wink, aiming it at the game target.

The target is mounted on a 4 5/8" square piece of wood (1/4" thick) that has a shiny red underlabel plus a nonshiny bluish-purple square attached to the back. Also on the back is a small pink rectangular piece of cardboard attached with two nails, to which a black cloth rectangle is attached.

The face of the target has a square label with a white outer border, then a black outline. Inside that frame is a repeating decorative design resembling basic paisleys (in white with black outlines and some shadows) over a background of speckled red dots on a yellow background.

9 numbered circles appear on the target, each numbered in red on a white circle that has a black outline on a blue background. The top row is numbered "10", "75", "10"; the middle row "25", "100", "25"; and the bottom row "10", "75", "10" again.A brass-colored metal hook is attached to the top of each circle on the target .

The publisher number, "1514" appears in black at lower right, not at an angle.

One copy examined (copy 1) includes no squidgers. That copy also included quoits as winks (1/2" in diameter, 1/8" thick): 1 yellow and 1 brown.
