The cover depicts over 10 icy mountain summits. The center summit is highest, where a man is standing on top with his right hand up, holding something. Below him are 6 more people, sitting on the surface. At lower left, a woman and a man are walking towards the other people. All people are wearing brown outfits and hats and are carrying a pick.

"THE GREAT NEW" above "ALPINE GAME" (orange with yellow at bottom, with black outline) appears at lower right.

Below, at left of center at the bottom, is "BRITISH MANUFACTURE".

The bifold game board measures 10 1/2" wide by 10 1/8" high. The rear of the board is red.

The game board depicts a tall, icy mountain, with yellow sky above, white clouds at the upper left, and more mountains in the upper right and upper left corners.

The game "START" is at lower left, by the position marked "1". A dashed line goes to the right to "2", then left to "14", then zigzagging right and left with numbers increasing to "100" on the top of the mountain. Most numbered positions are marked with the number and a small solid black dot. However, there are 8 numbered positions with a large red dot. The red dot positions have messages, such as "GOOD WEATHER. ON TO 24.", and all include moves forward on the board. There are also 9 numbered positions with a large yellow dot. These positions have messages such as "AVALANCHE. BACK TO START.", and all include moves backwards on the board.

A little village marked "CHAMOUNIX" appears at the bottom center of the board.

A dark blue die (7/16" cubed) with white spots is included.

Mover pieces (1/2" round bone discs) are provided in blue, red, white, orange, purple, and yellow.
