The game includes 4 cards (3" wide by 1 3/8" high), each in a different color and with the name of a location printed (in blue/purple) on one side (the other side in blank): "LADYSMITH." on light purple; "MAFEKING." on pale green; "PRETORIA." on offwhite; and "BLOEMFONTEIN." on red (on a smaller card).

4 small flags (made of paper) on metal pins (with pinheads) come in the game: 2 have the British Union flag, and 2 have the Boer Republics flag (with a vertical green bar at left; and three horizontal bars at right: red at top, white below, and blue at the bottom (which is the Dutch flag)).

In the Bodleian Library copy of the game, bone squidgers come in: deep purple, yellowish-white, green, and red. Winks come in 6 each of the same colors.
