The cover label has an outer wide tan border, then thin red, thin tan, thin red, thin tan, then a solid red background inside.

The title starts at upper left with "THE" above and to the left of "NEW" (both tan and sometimes white) over the red background. "PARLOUR" above "COMPENDIUM" (black serifed letters with white/tan shadow) appears below on a dull pale blue trapezoid at an angle up to the right. "OF" appears below the "E" in "COMPENDIUM", and then "AMUSING GAMES" across most of the bottom (all in tan) with the "MU" below "OF".

"J • J & SON" over "LONDON" (in black) appears over a tan circle with a red outline then tan outline then red, at lower left.

The right side of the cover label has multicolor illustrations of the games within, including a depiction of the box bottom. The black character Aunt Sally is shown at upper left, with a wooden pipe attached to her nose and 2 wooden rings hanging on the pipe. To her right is a game board with a 14 by 14 cell grid, marked in red with "X"es within each cell.

To the right is a square piece with round concentric targets in red at center, then tan, then black, then tan, and with a pale green outside. Below that target are 8 wooden skittles (7 standing, 1 on its side). To its right is a box marked "[G]OBANG". Below the skittles and GOBANG box is the box cover of "THE New ROUND Game TIDDLEDY WINKS" with the contents of its box shown to the right: a wooden cup and winks.

Below Aunt Sally and the game board, and to the left of the nine pins and TIDDLEDY WINKS, the wooden compartments within the box bottom are shown. Within it at upper left: 4 wooden croquet mallets and 4 croquet balls, along with 2 rounded wooden stands with vertical sticks.

Copy 1 of this game includes:

Squails disks (wood, 2" in diameter, about 3/8" thick, with recessed shiny natural wood bottom and tapered outsides on the top in various colors, a 1 1/8" flat round part at center top in various colors that has a 8 lines radiating from the center): 2 with red tapered outsides of the top and a dull blue center flat round center top; 2 red outsides then white top, 2 red then red, 2 black then red, 2 black then white, 2 red then black, 2 back then blue, and 2 black then black.

Skittles pins (natural wood, not shiny, 4 1/2" tall; wider and rounded at top but to a smooth point at top, 1 5/8" maximum width; narrow at bottom, 7/8"): 9.

Skittles cheeses (natural wood, not shiny, 3" in diameter, 1 5/8" high, with rounded edges): 2 present (per James Masters email on 9 December 2025, there should be 3.

Parlour Aunt Sally doll target (wooden, painted except for base where legs are attached; Black character with black skin, red lips, tan nose and eyes, with a doily scarf attached over the top of her head, and a separate doily dress; 6" height; round vertically with various diameters: 2 1/4" maximum on head near top, 1 1/8" neck, 2" maximum below neck): 1.

Parlour Aunt Sally legs (natural wood, 10 1/8" long, rounded with maximum width of 1/2" on the outside end, flat with minimum width of 3/8" on the end that lodges into the base of the Aunt Sally doll): 3.

Parlour Aunt Sally pipe, that fits in her nose (natural wood, not shiny; stick 4 1/2" long, 1/4" round; plus pipe end shape that is attached to the stick, 1 3/4" tall, rounded at bottom with maximum width 3/4" and flat at top with minimum width 1/2"): 1.

Parlour Aunt Sally rings, that are thrown to land over the pipe (natural wood, not shiny, 3" outer diameter, 2 3/16" inner diameter, 1/2" thick): 5.

Croquet mallets (natural wood, shiny; 10 1/4" stick handle that is 7/16" in diameter at the end where held, and 1/4" in diameter at minimum near where the head of the mallet is attached; the head is cylindrical, 2 1/16" tall while being slightly thinner at the center, 1 1/16" diameter, and is attached to the stick handle): 4.

Croquet balls (painted wooden spheres, 1 1/8" diameter): 1 red, 1 black, 1 offwhite, and 1 pale blue/gray.

Croquet stakes (painted wooden spires (3" tall, 7/16" diameter) on a natural wooden, shiny, curved round base (1 3/8" maximum at bottom): 1 with red spire, 1 with pale blue/gray spire.

Croquet wickets (natural metal with upside-down "U" wires (1 7/8" wide, 3" tall) attached to a rounded rectangular metal base (2 1/2" by 1 31/32")): 6.

This compendium includes a box with "THE New ROUND Game TIDDLEDY WINKS - BY LETTERS PATENT - TRADE MARK" on the cover label, and a green apron underlabel. The box has "7841" stamped in purple under the box lid. The box measures 4 1/16" wide by 2 7/8" high and 1 13/16" tall, This box includes:

Tiddlywinks cup (wooden, turned on a lathe, shiny except on the bottom of the base; 2 1/16" top diameter, 1 11/16" height, 1 1/2" minimum diameter halfway from top, and 2 1/16" bottom diameter; 2 brown rings appear on the sides near the base between stepped extrusions): 1.

Tiddlywinks squidgers (bone, 1 1/4" diameter): 1 green, 1 dark red, 1 yellow, 1 coral, 1 deep blue, and 1 white.

Tiddlywinks winks (bone, 9/16" diameter): 1 green, 3 red, 3 yellow, 3 coral, 1 deep blue, 1 dull dark blue, and 3 white.

Tiddlywinks winks (bone, 11/16" diameter, likely not original to this game): 2 red.

Also included in Copy 1 is the game of Halma, which is unlikely to be original to this game.

Halma board (cardboard): 14 5/8" wide by 14 3/4" high, folding in the middle. The side with the 16 by 16 cell Halma board is orange and pale orange, with 19 dotted cells in each of the upper left and lower right corners, and 13 dotted cells in each of the upper right and lower left corners. The back of the board is blue with red at the fold. The multicolor label, "THE NEW GAME OF HALMA" (with character in varying uses of black and red), appears on one side of the board's back, depicting two soliders (red and black uniforms) shooting rifles to the right.

Halma pieces (unshiny wood, pawn-shaped with holes in the bottoms, 3/4" tall, 3/16" diameter base, 9/32" bulb top): 28 green, 20 red, 27 black, and 21 yellow.

While the box cover for the game of Gobang appears at right on the cover, Copy 1 does not include the game.
