The game board is 23 1/2" by 28 5/8", depicting a map of the world with routes between marked locations.

There are 6 movers are shaped like lanterns (light blue, light green, silver, red, plus 2 more).

Small white cards identify treasures available at specific locations, e.g. "Cruces Trail Panama South America". There are 119 general treasure cards printed with black ink, and 37 pirate treasures, printed with red ink.

Numbered counters of various colors are used to count points (500 - green, 1000 - yellow, 5000 - red, 10000 - orange, and 50000 - blue).

Included are two small white dice with dots, and two additional red dice with numbers on each side.

The game includes a booklet: "EL DORADO / A DESCRIPTION OF The WORLD'S GREAT TREASURES by V. PETROV GOPCEVIC".
