Mother Goose

For Three or more Players

This game is played like "Old Maid," the object being to find which player is Mother Goose?

Shuffle the cards, and deal all of them equally among the players. If the player to the left of the dealer holds two cards of the same story, he announces name of the pair, and lays them face upward on the table; but if he does not hold a pair, he must draw from his right-hand neighbor. If his card matches any in his hand, he lays down the pair; if not, the play then passes to player at his left; and so on around the table, each person drawing or playing in turn. Since all the cards are in pairs except one, the person holding this last card is found to be “Mother Goose.”

If desired, this game may be played by same rules as “Authors,” by discarding the Mother Goose card, and then calling on different players for cards to complete each pair.
