The target has a square (5 3/8" wide by 5 1/4" high by 3/8" tall, and 7/8" tall including nails) natural wooden base onto which a square white label is attached, with "20" at center, "PATENT No." above it in a curve and "22446" on a curve below, in black.

There are three concentric black rings around it, with metal nails along their circumference and also at center with the "20" marking. The outer ring has nails into the board with markings of 8, 5, 11, 6, 8, 5, 11, 6, 8, 5, 11, and 8. The center ring has nails by markings of 7, 6, 5, 1, 6, 5, 1, 6, 5. The inner ring has nails by markings of 2, 2, 2, 2.
