Label with gold/white dental square border, then a solid gold border inside, then a black line border.

A vertical red oval ring fills most of the background of the cover. Inside it is a gold oval ring, and inside that is a light green solid oval.

At top on the red oval, the beginning of the title, "THE" above "NEW GAME" (white with black outline and shadow) is shown on a concave-down curve. Below that on the top of the golden oval is a dragon viewed from above, with black/light blue body, yellow feet, yellow/black eyes surrounded by red, and a red tongue.

The main title, "KING'S -" above "- QUOITS" above "." (all in mottled gold surrounded by dull brown letters with black outlines) is shown across the center of the cover over the ovals and background on a dull yellow banner with 3 golden radiants. Portions of the banner's edges have 7 curls (to left, top, bottom, and right) revealing pink and light blue on the back of the banner.

Below that on the bottom of the golden oval is a eagle, looking left, and holding a blue spear.

At bottom on the red oval, "McLOUGHLIN BROS., NEW YORK." above "COPYRIGHTED 1893" (all in black) appears, on a concave-up curve.

The upper left corner shows, upside-down and diagonally-oriented, a royal male figure (white crown-like hat; long dark hair; an outer robe of red with white collar and white fringes, purple inside, and a yellow shield with a fighting lion on it; an inner robe of yellow and orange with a pattern like rounded 4-leaf clovers, blue bottom fringe, and white area near bottom; bare right leg to above knee) is standing and holding a fancy sword (silver at top, red shaft, and yellow belt tied around it from top to bottom). The background is light blue, gray, and pink, showing a castle in the distance at left and right.

The upper right corner shows, upside-down and diagonally-oriented, a male figure (blue headdress/helmet covering top of head, ears, chin, and neck, with yellow stripe above eyes; light pink outer robe attached at top by two square pins with yellow/black background and red "X", with a red cross on his left shoulder; white inner robe with a red cross at top; a tied yellow/black scarf hanging down from the waist) standing and holding a yellow/black sword that is mostly covered by a tall shield (dark outer border with light blue dashes, light blue interior, another tall, thin red cross).

The game target is attached inside the box bottom, measuring about 13 3/4" square. The target has the same illustration as the cover but without the title and text. In addition, at left on the golden circle is a white greyhound dog with black spots, oriented vertically up, and a lion on the golden circle at right, oriented vertically down. Also, at center inside the light blue ring is a yellow ring, and inside that, a circle with a castle shown inside it.

Between the rings are holes for placing colored wooden pins that have a 3/16" nib fitting into the holes and the remainder measuring 1" standing up from the holes. The pins have a round part at top, then another rounded part below, then a more oval part, then the base standing on the game surface, and the nib below that is inserted into a hole.

There are 16 red pins and holes between the red and golden rings. There are 16 blue pins and holes between the golden and light blue rings. There are 8 yellow pins and holes between the light blue and yellow rings.
