Directions for Playing
Monkey
This game represents a menagerie in which are found two of each animal except the Monkey, and the object is to find his mate in the person of a player. Players should be seated around a table. Any number more than two can play. Deal all the cards (face downward) equally among the players. All players who hold two cards of the same kind, announce the name of the pair, and lay them face upward on the table. The player to the left of the dealer then draws one from the dealer. If this card matches any in his hand he lays down the pair, if not, then the play passes to the player at his left and so on around the table, each person drawing or playing in turn. Since all the cards are in pairs except one, the person holding this card is called the “Monkey.”
