Directions for Playing
12 Men Morris
Prepare this game for playing by cutting off this card at point shown by the dotted line on other side. Then carefully cut out the disks. Only two persons can play. The first play goes by turns. Each player has twelve men, each set being designated by color. The men are to be placed on the 34 circles of the Diagram, the players setting one man at a time by turns. The object is for each player to so place his men as to form a continuous row of three, and at the same time to prevent his opponent from doing the same. Whenever one play forms a row of his men, he removes one of his opponent’s men and keeps it himself. After all the men have been placed the players commence moving their men from one circle to the next, endeavoring to form a row as before, and whenever he succeeds in so doing he removes one of his opponent’s men the same as in entering. When either player has his men reduced to five, he can play by taking a man from any point and placing it on any other point on the board, instead of being confined to moving from one circle to the next. When either player has but two men left, he is beaten.
