The trifold cardboard game board measures 21 1/2" wide by 10 1/2" high. It has a black/white checkered outer border.
The board illustrated a map of the northern Atlantic Ocean, with Greenland, Canada, and the United States on the left side, and Ireland, Scotland, England, and Wales on the right side, along with a portion of the northwest of France at lower right.
Ports are marked by red circles ("FT. CHURCHILL", "QUEBEC", "HALIFAX", "BOSTON", and "NEW YORK" at left, and "GLASGOW", "LIVERPOOL", "SOUTHAMPTON", and "BREST" at right).
Pathways from a port on the right to a particular port on the left are marked on the waters with numbers from 1 through 50, with vertical lines between them. Periodically along a path is a square box filled with a color and letter(s) in it, in the following order: "C" (green), "F" (brown), "S" (white on black), "BN" (yellow), "SD" (pink), "BD" (orange), "FB" (dark red), "G" (gray), "PD" (lighter gray), and "DS" (white).
At top left-of-center is an illustration of a ship with 4 stacks (3/4 red, black at top) in an oval labeled |"B.D."—BEST DAYS RUN|. At top right-of-center is an illustration of a ship with 4 red stacks in an oval labeled |"B.N."—BEST NIGHTS RUN|.

Below and to the right is a profile of a ship with 4 stacks (3/4 red, with black at top) in an oval labeled |"F"—FULL SPEED AHEAD|.
Each of the movers consists of a piece of cardboard depicting a ship (2 1/8" wide by 3/4" tall) attached to a rectangular metal base. The movers are distinguished by the color of the skey on them: blue, white, red, and probably another color.
6 small (2 1/4" wide, and up to 1" high) cards are used to pick the route taken by a player. These are marked from 251 through 356. An example of one of them has "Atlantic Steamship Route" at top, "LIVERPOOL" above "TO" above "FORT CHURCHILL" below it, "351" sideways on either side, and "Saloon." and "Not Transferable." at bottom.
A round spinner is provided, numbered 1 through 6 in red with black outline on a green background. Along the circumference, the following message appears: "THIS SPINNING TOTUM REPLACES DICE. PLAYERS MAY OPTIONALLY SCORE EITHER OR BOTH NUMBERED INDICATED BY ENDS OF POINTERS. The spinner has a red wooden pawn-shaped item at center, and the cited pointers are radial metal lines that is twisted around under the wooden pawn item. At center in a red area just outside the red pawn is the following text: |THE "CHAD VALLEY" TOTUM| around the top, and "PAT. NO. 28423." along the bottom.
