RULES
The object of the game is to reach the Hidden City by moving from one circle to another, starting at outer circle and finishing in inner circle.
Players start where indicated, and proceed round the tracks to the right as shown by the arrows.
A player at the end of a throw alighting on a picture moves according to istructions.
The player who first alights on "Entrance to the City" wins the game.

The cover illustration depicts two explorers (white shirt, white knickers, white hads with trailing white scarf, long brown boots, and brown belt) on a cliff on a side of a mountain (yellow-orange) on the right side, with a black native (wearing only a red/orange shorts with a ragged bottom climbing below. Small greenery appears on the mountain at center bottom.
The explorers are looking to the left on the cover where there is a river and a waterfall over brown/light brown rocks in the river. The river's water is dark blue upstream, turning to white and light blue in the waterfall.
On the other side of the river (on the left side of the box cover) is a narrow shore (orange) with palm trees and other plants.
A series of connected white buildings appears at center rear, with light orange mountains behind them. One of the buildings has a cross on the front and a minaret overhead.
Between the white buildings and the river is a pale green area and then a deep blue area.
The beginning of the game title, "EXPLORING" (red with black outine, with a large "E" and incrementally smaller subsequent letters and then a somewhat larger "G" at end) appears across the top of the cover from upper left to right of center.
Below the center of the box cover, left of center, |"GLEVUM" SERIES| (red) appears over the waterfall and side of the mountain.
Below that, the remainder of the title appears: "OR" above "The Search for the Lost City." (light blue, black outline, in a fancy serifed font).
"BRITISH" over "MANUFACTURE" (black) is shown in the lower left corner.

The trifold thin cardboard game board measures 23 3/4" wide and 12" high. The back side is pale red with no markings.
The front side has a red border and then a black line. The title appears at top outside the black line border: "EXPLORING OR The Search for the Lost City." (in white, with "EXPLORING OR" in a sans serif font and the rest in an italic serifed font). At bottom left, outside the black line, "BRITISH MANUFACTURE" is shown, then |"GLEVUM" SERIES| at center, and "MADE IN ENGLAND" at bottom right, all in a black, sans serif font.
The game starts at bottom center, marked "START HERE" (black) on a yellow rectangle. The path can proceed either to the left or right along a track of green rectangles or polygons, some rounded. Four concentric oval tracks constitute the race course, with one pathway connection from an outer track to the adjacent inner track. Periodically along each green track an illustration appears along with a messages/instructions, such as an illustration of a white explorer with 7 black natives behind him carrying goods on their heads, which has the message "EASY GOING" above "GO FORWARD 5".
The innermost green traack has a position marked "ENTRANCE TO CITY" (black), which is the connection point to the lost city, which is illustrated in an oval inside that track, depicting a wall around the city and a variety of white buildings including domes and minarets.
A red dice cup ( 1 1/8" diameter, 2 5/8" tall) is included in the game, along with a die (1/4" cube with black spots and white faces with a reddish tinge.
4 metal movers (1 1/4" tall, 3/8" wide at top, 3/4" wide at the base, 3/8" wide at the base, and 1/16" wide otherwise) depicting white explorers, are provided.
They are distinguished by the color of their pants: greenish-yellow, pale green, blue, and red. Each is holding a curved staff.
