The cover is largely a purplish-red background, with a white rectangle at center. Inside the rectangle is a white rectangle with a right-facing knight and "x2".

Below that inside the white rectangle is the title, "DUPLICATE CHESS™" (in a serif font) above "The International Team Chess Game" (in a script-style font), all in white.

The copyright marking and publisher name appear in the lower left of the cover in white.

The bifold game board has a red back and a label for the game playing surface. The board has 14 squares across and down except for the nine squares in each of the four corners. The squares alternate between a reddish-brown and an offwhite. A reddish-brown border appears around the playing surface, forming a large plus sign.

The lower right corner of the game board includes the copyright and the CreaTek manufacturer's name.
