A red background covers about one-third of the cover, starting with the entire left side and forming a triangle upward to the top of the cover just right of center. Similarly, a blue background covers about one-third of the cover, starting with the entire right side and forming a triangle downward to the bottom of the cover just left of center. Between, the background is a black parallelogram.

The red background, at top just left of center, has "BY APPOINTMENT" over "TOYMAKER TO" and then the royal coat of arms, and then "HER MAJESTY" over "THE QUEEN" (all in black). "The Chad Valley Company Ltd., Harborne, England" (in black) appears below.

"Ludo" (in black script with a white outline) appears below and to the left on the red background, with a portion of a Ludo game board (yellow, white, blue, and red) below.

The game includes a bifold cardboard game board (11 7/16" wide by 11 1/2" high). The 100 cell Snakes & Ladders game board appears on one side, and a Ludo game board on the other. The Ludo side has "THE CHAD VALLEY GAMES" (in black) at lower left and "MADE AT HARBORNE, ENGLAND" (in black) at lower right.

A cardboard tiddlywinks target fits into the box bottom, but only covering a 2" width by 12 7/8" long. A 1 3/8" hole is in the center of the target, where a cup would go (Copy 1 of this game is missing a cup). Outside the hole on either side is marked "50" (in black) on a red background. Next further out in both directions are dark blue rectangles marked "25" (in black). The final step out in both direction are yellow rectangles marked "10" (in black).

Copy 1 includes an aluminum shaker cup (7/8" top diameter with a top lip, 3/4" bottom diameter, with straight sides, and 2" tall). The shaker cup is used with a die; a 5/16" black die with white pips is included.

Copy 1 includes:

Squidgers (1" diameter, quality plastic, no burrs): 1 pale teal, 1 green, 1 dull yellow, 1 bright red (with a small chip on its edge).

Winks (5/8" diameter, quality plastic, no burrs): 4 medium-dark blue, 4 dull green, 4 dull yellow, 4 darker red.
