The game includes a bifold cardboard game board (8 1/4" horizontal by 16 1/4" vertical). "The New Game of" (brown) appears on a pale orange banner at top, with "WATER POLO" (red, on a wavy baseline) below on a white banner. Well-dressed men and women are seated in the top corners.

At the bottom of the board, "Registered Stationers' Hall" (brown, on a wavy baseline) appears on a pale orange banner over red and pale orange flourish. Additional well-dressed men and women are seated in the bottom corners, though they are upside-down compared to the "Registered Stationers' Hall" banner.

Most of the board depicts a swimming pool, with "GOAL" on each end adjacent to upright goal. Each "GOAL" reads upright from the nearest end of the board. 7 men are shown in the pool on each side, with one side wearing black and white striped tops and the other, red and white. One man is adjacent to each goal, and then another just above, connected with a line. Thereafter, a man is shown both at left and right further into the pool, also connected with lines.
