The top label has a wide golden outer border.

"GAME OF" (medium blue with pale yellow outlines plus a golden outer outline) appears at upper left, with "GAME" over a yellow background. "GOLF" (in red with offwhite shadows upward and to the left, along with a golden border) appears to the right over a pale blue sky background. A multitude of golden filigree designs appear above and below the title.

The cover illustration fills the top label. The foreground shows a gathering of 4 adult golfers and 3 boy caddies on a green fairway with a tan path from upper center to center right. In the background beyond the tan path at upper right, a group of 5 golfers appear on a putting green. A stone fence appears behind them, with a few trees and a flag. To the left of the tan path near center are several large gray boulders, and then a few trees to the left of them. A solo caddie appears to the left (wearing red) and also to the right (wearing light blue) of the boulders. A makeshift fence is shown just beyond the trees at left, just above center. In the rear, about 1/3 down from the top, a large clubhouse (pale pink with pale gray at top) appears, with a red flag on a flagpole to the left of it. Two additional groups of golfers appear as specks in the distance.

Just right of center, a right-handed male golfer (wearing a red cap and jacket, gray knickers, green and pink socks) is swinging a club at a ball on the grass. Looking on at lower right is another male golfer (wearing a pale blue hat, green jacket, white collar, white pants) is holding a golf club in his left hand, resting it on the ground. Three boy caddies are shown to the left of the red-coated golfer, each holding a golf bag containing clubs. The caddy just left of the red-coated golfer is wearing a pale blue cap and jacket, white knickers, and dark socks. The caddy to the left of that one has a yellow hat, light brown coat, pale blue knickers, and dark socks. Another caddy standing closer to the vantage point is looking away towards the red-coated golfer, and is sporting a red and blue cap, light brown coat and knickers, and black socks, and the golf bag is a two-toned blue/green plaid.
